Media Converter for Ethernet IEEE 802.3. The MICROSENS 10Base-T/10Base-2 media converter permits the connection of coaxial cable (10Base-2) and twisted pair cable (10Base-T) in an Ethernet network (iEEE 802.3).

Main application is the cost effective conversion of multiple BNC ports to twisted pair connections. As a result of the direct connection it is possible to use existing coaxial cable in twisted pair networks. Because of the complete signal regeneration (repeater), it is possible to cover the maximum distances (100 m for twisted pair and 185 m for coaxial cable).

The converter is designed as a modular insertion card and due to the different chassis options, its use is very flexible. Beside the desktop chassis there are different chassis for the 19" rack mounting available. The desktop chassis are available as a one and two slot version. In the two slot version the converter can be combined with any other converter of the same series. There are two different power supply versions available.

Beside the cost effective version with an external power supply there are chassis with internal power supplies and a wide input range available. With an optional wall bracket it is very easy to mount these desktop chassis on the wall. Colour coded LEDs are showing information about the status of the converter and can be used for error diagnostics of the transmission line.
