Fast Ethernet Media Converter 2 Port 100Base-FX/TX
The MICROSENS Fast Ethernet Media Converter Module enables the direct coupling of twisted pair (100Base-TX) and fiber optical segments (100Base-FX) in a Fast Ethernet network.
The converter supports half as well as full duplex connections. In the full duplex mode distances of up to 2 km can be covered (single mode: depending on version 15 km to 40 km).
The direct coupling permits the extension of twisted pair connections beyond the limit of 100 m. The link status of the segment is transferred via the converter (‘Link-Through’), i. e. in case of a link failure on the FX-side no link is generated on the TX-side.
